Everyone in the class may submit a problem to the phys 3356 final exam with the following requirements. 1. The problem must be in ascii (regular text) text, with equations in any electronic form separate from the ascii text (or with the text if you can do LaTeX). 2. The problem must be doable in 15 minutes or less. 3. The problem must be clearly stated with no grammar errors. 4. If there are multiple parts, they must be written as separate itemized paragraphs. 5. If information in addition to Fowles is needed, it must be given in the statement of the problem. Like for example the Lorentz transformation equations. 6. The problem (with all supporting equations) and solution (together) must be received by me (via email) no later than Monday, May 2, 2005, @ 12 noon. 7. The problem must be on a phys 3355, phys 3356, or student project topic. 8. You may not show it to, or talk about it to another student in the class, until after the exam. The Honor Code applies. The credit you receive for this problem will be that received at the Final Exam. cheers lance
